Distributing Co-operative
This Co-op Builder will guide you to draft a constitution and a disclosure statement for a distributing co-operative.
Distributing co-operatives have share capital and can deliver services to members and share profits with members.
You will learn about each document as you design your co-op through the Co-op Builder.
Have you chosen the right co-operative type? If you are uncertain, download How to choose your co-op type.
Before you begin, make sure you have your business plan handy. For more information, download Business planning for co-ops.
Accessing and saving your documents
You must draft the constitution first and then the disclosure statement.
If you wish to complete your constitution over multiple sittings, click the Save button within the form and register your email address when prompted. A unique link will be emailed to you, allowing you to return to your form from any computer for up to 30 days from the start date.
Unfinished constitutions are automatically removed after 30 days, so please ensure you complete and download your documents before this period expires.
You will need to answer questions in the form builder. After downloading your completed constitution, you will also need to review the editable Microsoft Word document and complete any remaining sections marked in red.
Please note, you must save your Constitution and Disclosure Statement separately, giving you two links.
Once a document has been completed, you must download it directly from the webpage in editable Microsoft Word format. The emailed link only provides access to documents still in draft mode and cannot be used to access completed documents.
