Be Caring team receiving their award

The UK’s largest employee-owned social care provider, Be Caring, was announced as the winner of two prestigious LaingBuisson Excellence in Home Care and Excellence in Supported Living awards last week.

Be Caring received the Excellence in Home Care award. Its LIFE by Be Caring program, which has supported adults and children in Newcastle, North Tyneside and Gateshead, who have been diagnosed with Learning Disabilities or Autism, since 2010, received the Excellence in Supported Living award.

The organisation thank their team of over 800 people for their contributions:

“It’s thanks to our amazing teams across the North of England we have achieved these recognitions.

Our colleagues on the front line live and breathe our values every day, their passion and determination is an inspiration and we want to say a huge thank you to them.

Be Caring and LIFE by Be Caring are only as good as the people who make it – and they are a force to be reckoned with.

Our teams’ commitment to delivering the best care and support possible has not only touched the lives of our clients but has also elevated Be Caring to new heights. This award belongs to each one of them, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team.”

Employee Ownership Australia wrote about Be Caring, in their recent blog post on Employee Ownership Trusts (EOT) In The Social Care Sector.

Ann Tyler of the ‘Ownership at Work’ research partner of EOA UK says in her post on this award, “So proud of Sharon Lowrie and her colleagues at Be Caring! This is what an employee owned social care company looks like. Many congratulations!”
