Care Together’s Peter Westoby, Peter Hunt and Nick Hislop recently travelled to Bowen, QLD to work alongside the Girudala Community Co-operative team on a new Strategic Plan, designed to support the co-op’s renewal and future growth.

Girudala has been a vital part of the region for 50 years, delivering culturally responsive care and services for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander community members. With demand growing, the co-operative is taking bold steps to strengthen its governance, grow its services, and expand its impact.

This Care Together project supports Girudala in developing a sustainable business model, refreshing its constitution, and deepening membership engagement, laying the groundwork for a thriving, community-led future that could inspire other regions across Australia.
